Williams Air Force Base, Arizona

[Date]

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

During the period 21 May 1951 to 31 January 1956, I was employed as Administrative Assistant to the Installations Officer, this Base. In that capacity, I was in frequent contact with Mr. [First M. Last Name], who was employed as Assistant Chief of the Base Fire Department, which is part of the Installations organization.

In my opinion, Mr. [Last Name] has been an outstanding employee in every respect. He has always performed his duties most efficiently and, upon occasion, courageously. He has invariably cooperated cheerfully and whole-heartedly, not only with his superiors, but with his co-workers and subordinates as well, even though such cooperation often involved expending time and effort far beyond the normal expectations of his position.

He is sober, industrious, and of unimpeachable character. His attendance record has been superior. As evidence of this, he has accumulated over 2,000 hours of unused sick leave.

Largely due to Mr. [Last Name]'s ingenuity and efforts, this Base has always placed high in Air Force-wide standings on National Fire Prevention Week contests. He also helped to develop an important improvement in the operation of aircraft crash barriers, for which he received a substantial award from the government.

Mr. [Last Name] will be leaving this Base soon to move to another climate for reasons of health of a member of his family, and I wish to take this means of recommending him most highly to anyone who requires and values the outstanding ability, sterling character, sobriety, and devotion to duty of a man like Mr. [Last Name].

[Last Name]
Administrative Officer
