Military Outstanding Volunteers Service Medal Template

Key Points to Writing
  • PCS/PCA Decorations will be based on EPRs/OPRs
  • Achievement Decorations read like awards, and will need a narrative for justification
  • DO NOT plan on making up mid-tour points in a PCS medal
  • Ask for HELP, the only person looking out for #1 is you
  • The only person looking out for your Airman is YOU!
  • ASK for/WRITE a Mid Tour decoration
  • WRITE!!! The more you do it, the better you get
  • Use F7 to spell check. Errors reflect badly on you and your subordinate!

The following Military Outstanding Volunteers Service Medal Template has been taken from a Word Doc.  I have changed mission information to protect myself and the people I have received the information from.  I will attempt to give a little insight to the entire process if I know it.

If you have anything you would like to submit, please do so.  Also, if you have found this information useful, please let me know. Everyone of these items has taken considerable amount of time to put together.  Please use the ads on this site to help support the site.  All money gathered pays for hosting fees and domain fees.  (HONESTLY, when I see money come in it also prompts me to work harder on the site.)

The information below has been copied from MS Word and can be copied back to a word doc for your submission!

1.  BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MISSION AND POPULATION SERVED:  The Providence House is a residential development center for homeless families with children, providing comprehensive support services for improving the family structure and moving them into independent livelihood. The singular aim of the program is to break the cycle of homelessness by helping families gain the resources necessary to move permanently into self-reliant living. The end result is that families become self-sufficient, rather than a burden on the community’s resources; builders of our community, rather than the homeless. The children in these families are far more likely to grow into productive, law-abiding members of our community. The Providence House is currently caring for over 80 people

2.  PERIOD OF SERVICE:  2005-2007

3.  BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE RENDERED; IMPACT/RESULTS ACHIEVED; APPROXIMATE HOURS CONTRIBUTED:  Served in the overburdened “Donations Room” of the Providence House. Received and sorted countless amounts of clothing and household items for the needy families. Arranged multiple pick-ups around the cities of XXXXXXX and XXXXXXXX for people who wanted to donate, but had no means of transporting goods. His efforts made certain the families of the Providence House always had clothing, books, appliances, and toys on hand when needed. As a volunteer, he personally sorted and packed over 100 baskets of food at Thanksgiving ensuring none of the families would feel unacknowledged during the holiday. Airman Doe was also responsible for receiving and sorting donated toys for all of the children during the Christmas holiday increasing the overall moral and well being. John Doe’s outstanding volunteerism has accumulated over 114 hours assisting the less fortunate to get back on their feet.
