outstanding achievement as Assistant Fire Chief, ### Expeditionary Civil
Engineer Squadron, ### Expeditionary Mission Support Group, ### Air
Expeditionary Wing, Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. During this
period, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, and
Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, Sergeant <LNAME>’s versatility and
initiative was evident as he seamlessly combined three senior noncommissioned
officer positions into one. Additionally, his superior understanding of
fireground operations was showcased when he responded as the fire department
representative to the Emergency Operations Center to liaison between the Battle
Staff and the Incident Commander. Furthermore, as cost center manager, Sergeant
<LNAME> oversaw a 561,000 dollar, 173 item equipment account and was responsible
for 645,000 dollars worth of acquisitions, culminating with the execution of a
five year, 520,000 dollar annual maintenance contract, ensuring that the flight
is prepared for enduring operations. Moreover, as training officer, he
rejuvenated an outdated training program, creating 34 lesson plans, issued 49
vehicle licenses and processed 20 error-free Department of Defense certification
packages, increasing the amount of qualified emergency response personnel 20
percent. Finally, Sergeant <LNAME>’s phenomenal leadership and professionalism
was instrumental in the Fire and Emergency Services Flight earning the Wing Team
Safety Award and Team of the Month, as well as his selection as the Warrior of
the Month for August. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant <LNAME>
reflect credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
