Example SrA Below the Zone (BTZ) Winning Nomination for 2008

Key Points to Writing
  • WRITE!!! The more you do it, the better you get.
  • Ask for HELP, the only person looking out for #1 is you.
  • The only person looking out for your subordinates is YOU!
  • Use a spell checker.  F7 works good in MS Word.
  • Use various writing resources like Merriam-Webster Online.

The following SrA Below the Zone (BTZ) example has been taken out of IMT.  If you have anything you would like to submit, please do so.  If you have found this information useful, please let me know. Everyone of these letters has taken considerable amount of time to put together.  Please treat yourself to something special from one of the ads on the page.  We will both get something out of it.  (All money gathered pays for hosting fees and domain fees.  HONESTLY, when I see money come in it also prompts me to work harder on the site.)

LEADERSHIP AND JOB PERFORMANCE IN PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Team leader; painstakingly organized/trained 18-man workcenter IMDS trng; data integrity errors down 85%
- Linchpin of Airman-tier; led five-man reconstitution team on AC-130H modification; returned acft 100% FMC
- Flawless role-model; promotes proper tech data usage within flight; obtained four zero-defect QA inspections
- Employed eight-man team; directed gunship infrared track/tub installation; acft war-readied six hrs shy of goal
- Maintenance savvy; faulty anti-skid box "Red Ball"; replaced part in 50% less time; launched vital trng msn
- Unequalled poise; "hot brakes" emergency responder; directed egress/replaced brakes; ground mishap averted
- Peerless inspector; identified cracked ballscrew; removed/replaced ballscrew in 3 hrs; turned acft 100% FMC
- Aided aero repair w/ elevator install; unit captured 97 sorties/393 flying hrs w/ 90% msn-capable rate, Aug07

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND SELF-IMPROVEMENT EFFORTS:
- Actively pursues CCAF degree; 103 credit hours earned/currently attending two classes; maintains 3.2 GPA
- Always above/beyond; finished CDC's 30 days ahead of schedule w/ 87% end of course; recognized by Sq/CC
- Ardently completed all 293 5-level upgrade tasks five months under AF standard--shop qualifications up 30%
- Supervised subordinates; trained nine members on acft post-flight inspection; improved preventative mx 18%

OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Supervision's first pick for JSOC TDY; deployed w/ two AC-130H/U acft; delivered 11 sorties w/ 100% ME
- Razor-sharp Airman; selected by sq to represent <BASE> as Honor Guard; boosted AF/community pride
- Volunteered as AMU vehicle monitor; improved vehicle mx inspection tracking; received 100% QA pass rate

Note:
I like it.  Very good leadership and job performance especially with the key in war environment.  Without the JSOC TDY comment, it may have been harder to figure it out.  CDCs and 5 level bullets speak volumes.  Finally, this has hit a couple of the key points when it comes to BTZ packages, college and honor guard.
