Key Points to Writing
  • WRITE!!! The more you do it, the better you get.
  • Ask for HELP, the only person looking out for #1 is you.
  • The only person looking out for your subordinates is YOU!
  • Use a spell checker.  F7 works good in MS Word.
  • Use various writing resources like Merriam-Webster Online.

The following SrA Below the Zone (BTZ) example has been taken out of IMT.  If you have anything you would like to submit, please do so.  If you have found this information useful, please let me know. Everyone of these letters has taken considerable amount of time to put together.  Please treat yourself to something special from the Amazon.com ad on the page.  We will both get something out of it.  (All money gathered pays for hosting fees and domain fees.  HONESTLY, when I see money come in it also prompts me to work harder on the site.)

LEADERSHIP AND JOB PERFORMANCE IN PRIMARY DUTY:

- Initiated effort to locally repair four maintenance stands; researched criteria/coordinated repairs; saved $3,792
- Provided 24 hour flightline support of Missile Defense Agency Long Range test of $25M national defense test

SIGNIFICANT SELF-IMPROVEMENT:
- Pursued education at every opportunity; enrolled in final class to achieve associates degree through CCAF
- Completed three FTD course; eagerly shared knowledge with others--reduced unscheduled mx nearly 15%

BASE/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
- Stepped up as flight POC and decoration committee lead for squadron holiday party; maximized participation
- Volunteered as Line Judge/motivator during Special Olympics; ensured success; solidified host nation relations
- Selfless; standing designated driver for all squadron/flight functions; provided 63 rides to fellow <BASE>

Note:

This was a winning package.  The only problem noticed with this package was the opening line, not having the percentage qualified.  This could be disastrous in some competitions.   The most important items showed how the Airman achieved leadership potential while meeting the whole person concept.
