- Don't be afraid to ask for HELP.
- The only person looking out for either you or your subordinate is YOU!
- Use a spell checker (F7 in Office)
- Remember, writing doesn't have to win to REWARD!
- Use various writing resources like Merriam-Webster Online.

Note: Good package, the supervisor/writer illustrated the airman's
involvement and successes vividly. Would expect to see an annual award for
the same individual. Lead
ought to be Led. Update: As a writer sometimes a "cold eye"
becomes important. Looking at this award again, there are some serious
issues within it. First and foremost it is a good package with the
possibility of being a GREAT package. As a writer if you address a group
vaguely, it losses its strength...
e.g.
- Demonstrated outstanding teaching skills--educated students on dental
materials/tools/four-handed dentistry
The question, How many students were educated?
If you read a bullet and can ask how much or why during any part of it, then
it needs to be worked on. Especially for an annual award. While
following the same example line, be very careful of using the information twice.
In this case the line "- Avid supporter of National Children's dental health month--improved oral
hygiene awareness for 150 children" seems to follow the same theory. In
order to prevent faulty interpretation, watch the bullet targets and use
sub-bullets if necessarily. |
